Vice President to help Kick-off State Representative’s General Election Campaign for Congress

Waco, Texas—State Representative Arlene Wohlgemuth, the Republican Nominee for Congress in the newly drawn 17th District, said today that she was excited about receiving United States Vice President Dick Cheney’s help in kicking off her general election campaign. Vice President Cheney will be the special guest at a Wohlgemuth for Congress Campaign kick-off event and fundraiser to be held in Waco on Friday.

“I can’t think of a better way to kick-off our general election campaign than by welcoming the Vice President to the 17th District,” Wohlgemuth said. “His visit helps underscore the importance of this congressional race to the President and his administration and should send a strong signal to voters that I am the candidate for Congress in this district who has and who will continue to work with George W. Bush to enact his conservative vision for America.

“As State Representative, I worked hand-in-hand with then Governor Bush to help pass the largest tax cut in the history of Texas. Now, I look forward to going to Congress and working hand-in-hand with President Bush and Vice President Cheney to lower the tax burden on American families, help win the war on terrorism, and preserve and protect the traditional values that have made our state and nation strong,” Wohlgemuth added.
